28 January 2022 - The Asia Business Law Journal published the results of its Asia Business Law Survey 2021 and where Lee Shih shared his views on the Malaysian disputes market.
Lee Shih was quoted in the article:
“There is so much activity in the litigation and arbitration scene in Malaysia,” says Lee Shih, the managing partner at Lim Chee Wee Partnership in Kuala Lumpur, who also observes that “the increase in the number of lawyers [at his firm] is due to the increased workload and files”.
Lee expects fraud litigation to continue to climb in 2022, including fraud and asset recovery through push payment fraud and cryptocurrency disputes. “Restructuring and insolvency will continue to be busy,” he says. “This will also be in line with the anticipated amendments to the restructuring and corporate rescue laws via amendments to the Companies Act, 2016.”
